Helping You Regain Independence in Recovery
Milwaukee Gender-Specific Sober Living
At Roots Recovery, our goal isn’t to just help you overcome addiction in the short term. We’re here to empower you with the tools you need to achieve lifelong sobriety, health, and happiness. In our Women’s Sober Living house, we provide residents with a safe space to call home during their treatment and a place to work together with fellow women in recovery, developing a fellowship of sisterhood and support that lasts a lifetime.
Women’s Sober Living Homes Near You
Our Women’s Sober Living home is a spacious, two-story, single-family house. Women share a comfortable bedroom with one of their peers, and have access to communal dining, laundry, and recreational spaces, including a relaxing backyard area. We provide women in recovery with all the resources they need to begin healing, and all the amenities they need to call our sober house a home.
Aside from the many benefits our Women’s Sober Living home provides, residents get a chance to recover in relative privacy. Located just off of the UW-Milwaukee campus, where others in the neighborhood share living arrangements, our female-specific sober living home allows residents to blend in and focus on their recovery.
Structured Living Women’s Rehab in Milwaukee
We believe one of the best ways to empower women in recovery is by surrounding them with other women who have faced or are currently facing similar challenges. Our Milwaukee Sober Living houses are welcoming, safe spaces where women can practice living sober without any judgment or distractions. We help residents confront their deep-rooted issues, build a lasting support network, and develop the skills they need to reclaim the life they deserve.
Reinforcing Sobriety Skills
While in our Roots Recovery Sober Living programs, our residents’ schedules are planned around their addiction treatment programs, providing the same structure that they get in clinical treatment throughout the day. To help apply what they’ve learned during the day, residents reinforce the 12-Step principles, recovery skills, and coping mechanisms that they covered in treatment during nightly house meetings.
Practicing Life Skills and Responsibility
Suffering from alcohol or drug addiction can often make it difficult for people to learn the basic skills they need to care for themselves. We dedicate time to teaching our residents how to fulfill responsibilities that many of them have never had, such as doing laundry, grocery shopping, and more broadly, caring for a family. Our residents are held accountable for completing daily household chores, which benefits the group and helps individual clients develop the accountability that comes with life after rehab.
Professional Growth
Proudly Serving Milwaukee

We chose to house our Sober Living program in Milwaukee because of the city’s welcoming addiction recovery community, as well as its many professional, educational, and entertainment opportunities. Our residents can bike the Oak Leaf Trail, window shop in the Third Ward, visit the Milwaukee Art Museum, and more. As you begin to heal, you’ll be able to take advantage of more and more of Milwaukee’s many charms.
